Elementary School (K-4):
- General African geography-where it is on global map in relation to other continents
- Early on, they would be very rudimentary with some generalizations to ensure some familiarity for later courses;
- It would be important to incorporate Africa examples in very basic classes like Math or Science
Middle School (5-8):
- Society: Look at different African societies
- Societal norms
- How they differ from western norms
- African culture; dance, music, architecture, languages, religion and sports
- Demographics: Demographics of the continent
- Regional peoples; Arab north, western coast, eastern coast, sub-Saharan, South
- Evolution of these groups over time
- How demographic affects culture and society
- Geography: Specific knowledge of African geography
- Important to be accustomed to African geography; understanding of evolution of society, demographic, politics, history, economy
- Knowledge of the different climates in Africa; Temperate, tropical, savannah, desert
