1) The Camera Mouse is a technology developed at Boston College that allows a person with very limited voluntary muscle control to control the computer. It just involves sitting in front of a camera and moving your head. In terms of students without disabilities, they can be encouraged to think about how this app works (the mechanical, theory), or how the muscle around the eyes works, increasing they curiosity in technology in an easy funny experiment. This software can be downloaded for free in here: http://cameramouse.org/, more info. can be found in http://www.bc.edu/content/bc/schools/csom/eagleeyes/cameramouse.html
2) Another one is called BrainPort, it’s a technology (first came out in 2009? Not sure.) that helps blind people can “see” using their tongues. The official website is http://www.wicab.com/en_us/ which is further described http://science.howstuffworks.com/brainport.htm, this might be a little bit different for kids in young age to understand, but I assumed it’s an informative resource in class! Maybe we can design a experiment to imitate this device, like using their tongues to feel, to locate a certain spot on a paper.
