1. Clicking the triangle at the upper left corner of the take folder will open up the four different takes on that track. The selected blue take is the one that will play, while the greyed out takes will be muted. Clicking on a take will select it to be played.
2. At the top of the arrange area is the Bar ruler, which measures a song’s timeline in “bars” or “measures.”
3. In order to focus on only a specific region of a song, click and drag a cycle area around the specific region. During playback, this selection will be played on repeat.
4. A composite take is composed of parts from two or more different takes. To add a portion from an unselected take, click at the beginning of the desire portion and drag to the end. It will change color to blue to show that it is activated.
5. Placing the mouse cursor over the edge of the blue selection will change it to the length change tool. You can use this to reposition the edit point between the two takes.
6. Use the Take Folder Menu at the top right corner of the take folder to create multiple versions of the comp and to easily switch between them.
7. Further edits within a composition are possible. Just click and drag to make a selection on an unselected track to add the selection to the composition.
8. In the Take Folder Menu, select Flatten to close the take folder and replace it with the current composition.
