1. The first 5 seconds of the video is just footage of us preparing to record, which we don’t need, so I am going to blade everything at 5 sec, 11 frames and then delete the unnecessary clips on the left.
2. I’m left with 5 empty seconds at the beginning of the Timeline. I could drag the clips to the beginning of the Timeline to fix this, but I want to start the video with an introduction. I’m going to create a title to appear in this space.
3. I am just going to use the basic title which can be found in the titles section to the right of the Timeline. To use it, just drag it to the beginning of the timeline.
4. Selecting the clip will bring it up in the Inspector where you can change the text and other attributes.
5. Right click on the title. Select “Add Cross Dissolve” so that the title is not so abrupt.
6. Now it is time to edit multi-cam. The screen recording of logic, LogicProRecordingSM, is placed below the iPhone video of me, IMG_2671. There are several ways to implement the switching back and forth between the two clips, but the method I will use is simply to blade off and delete footage of IMG_2671 during the times when I want to show the screen recording instead. I have decided to begin the video with the screen recording, a decision that was motivated in part by the portrait orientation of the first part of IMG_2671 (See Part 1).
7. So now I have gone through and bladed off and deleted sections in which what was happening on the screen (LogicProRecordingSM) was more important than the video of me sitting at the computer. As you can see, there were just two sections where I decided to use the footage of me, both in which I am explaining the use of the physical H4N object.
8. One final touch I would make would be to add a cross dissolve at the very end of the video so the ending is not abrupt. It would also be a good idea to fade the audio out as well.
